In working toward the society that we aim to create and the guiding principles that we aim to fulfill, we have identified material issues relating to sustainability, giving us direction for improving the social and non-financial values that the Group emphasizes.
Positioning of Material Issues
Material Issues Identification Process
In addition to societal issues from international frameworks and guidelines (SDGs, ISO26000, SASB standard, GRI standard, etc.), we also consider those defined in our Listings of Societal issues, created by analyzing and organizing societal issues from our macro-level perspectives as a comprehensive think tank, and those from our 50th Anniversary Research project. The latter is our long-term vision for society, the future that we aim to achieve over the next 50 years.
We have identified a list of material issues, taking into account the ideal direction and importance of social and non-financial values, as clarified in the formulation process for our Guiding Principles, which were renewed to coincide with our 50th anniversary, and Medium-Term Management Plan 2023.
